Antique Black Americana cast iron bank with a mule that kicks a young boy, marked “Always did ‘Spise a Mule”. Patent date 1897. American, late 19th century. A button below the mule on the base activates the mechanism, whereby the mule wheels around, kicks the young man, and deposits a coin into the base. Mechanism still works. Good working condition, with some paint loss and wear as expected. 5 3/4″ tall by 10″ long / wide.
